The monarch has continued his royal duties, both domestically and abroad. And just this week, he welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron for a state visit. As health scares surrounding Charles continue, a new picture raises concerns even further.

King Charles was diagnosed with cancer in January last year and has since undergone cancer treatment.

Even though he has taken the time to rest after undergoing treatment, Charles won’t let that get in the way of his work.

It’s rare for members of the Royal Family to open up about their health. However, being open to the public in a world where a Royal Family might seem excessive to many can only be a good thing.

Charles is known for wanting to modernize the royals, while he harbors hopes that the younger generation, led by Prince William and Kate Middleton, will do the same. What that will mean for the Royal Family moving forward remains unclear at this time.

Still, the royals’ beginning to speak openly about their health issues has led us into “uncharted waters,” royal expert and author Richard Eden told Express. Charles is the first-ever monarch to acknowledge having cancer publicly, and as Eden points out, “When his grandfather George VI had cancer, he wasn’t even told himself.”

“We have our Monarch, our head of state, undergoing this extensive cancer treatment,” Eden said. “Clearly, we’re in uncharted waters… but if he needs to visit hospital because he’s feeling a bit under the weather from treatment, which is quite understandable, people do start to worry and panic a bit.”

King Charles cancer

While Charles has addressed his cancer briefly a few times, he has largely kept it private, as he is entitled to do. That’s until a few months ago, when, ahead of an event celebrating the work of community-based cancer care projects in the UK, he decided to open up about it.

“Each diagnosis, each new case, will be a daunting and at times frightening experience for those individuals and their loved ones. But as one among those statistics myself, I can vouch for the fact that it can also be an experience that brings into sharp focus the very best of humanity,” Charles said.

“It has certainly given me an even deeper appreciation of the extraordinary work undertaken by the remarkable organisations and individuals gathered here this evening, many of whom I have known, visited and supported over the years. Royal insider Camilla Tonminey claimed, “the talk now is that he may die ‘with’ cancer, but not ‘of’ cancer following a rigorous treatment program.”

Fears for King Charles health increase after he appears with bloodshot eye

Now, a new picture has left fans worried. As the king met with French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday for a state visit, his eyes left fans more concerned about his health.

King Charles welcomed Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, at Windsor Castle together with Queen Camilla. However, while he smiled and greeted Macron, Charles’s right eye appeared visibly bloodshot. Fans quickly reacted to the latest picture of Charles having a bloodshot eye. On social media, some responded with concern.

“This is horrifying,” one person wrote of Charles, while another said, “It looks awful,” according to Sky News.

A third user explained, “I have had this happen to me a few times.
