Donald Trump’s response to Ghislaine Maxwell has concerned CNN’s Elie Honig<\/h2>\n

A legal analyst has spoken out about Donald Trump\u2019s mishap when answering a question dubbed \u2018easiest\u2019 in the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0has been in the news quite a lot in the last week, particularly when it came to disgraced pedophile\u00a0Jeffrey Epstein<\/a>, and then his blunder about Epstein\u2019s associate Ghislaine Maxwell.<\/p>\n

The Trump administration has insisted that people\u00a0should move on from Epstein<\/a>, leading to people digging up his past with the financier.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s friendship with Epstein has been detailed throughout the decades, however, he has staunchly claimed that he did not like Epstein and had not spoken to him for years before the\u00a0sex crimes<\/a>\u00a0came to light.<\/p>\n

But, the Wall Street Journal published a piece that claimed Maxwell collected messages from Epstein\u2019s associates to celebrate his 50th birthday in 2003\u2026 and Trump was someone who provided his well wishes.<\/p>\n

WSJ\u00a0reports<\/a>\u00a0the letter included a few lines of typewritten text, which was seemingly framed by a hand-drawn naked woman on the page.<\/p>\n

“Happy Birthday – and may\u00a0every day be another wonderful secret,”<\/a>\u00a0the alleged letter concluded.<\/p>\n

While Trump claimed the letter was fake, a\u00a0report by<\/a>\u00a0the New York Times last week claimed his name is in fact on the list of contributors for Epstein\u2019s birthday book.<\/p>\n

Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence for helping Epstein sexually abuse minors, has allegedly been very cooperative with authorities regarding those who were associated with Epstein.<\/p>\n

But the\u00a0POTUS<\/a>\u00a0is now in hot water, with even a CNN legal analyst speaking out over his reaction to a simple question about the woman.<\/p>\n

When asked whether she\u2019s given credible information, he said: “[I]t’s going to be up to her whatever she thinks is credible, she should release.\u201d<\/p>\n

He was then asked if he would ever consider giving Maxwell a pardon or a commutation.<\/p>\n

Speaking to a Fox News reporter, the president replied: “It’s something I haven’t thought about. It’s something – I’m allowed to do it, but it’s something I have not thought about.”<\/p>\n

This led to CNN senior legal analyst Elie Honig being blown away by his wishy-washy response.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the easiest question in human history,\u201d Honig told the hosts on Saturday July 26.<\/p>\n

Honig was bewildered at Trump\u2019s answer.<\/p>\n

\u201cA pardon for the single worst, or No. 2 after Jeffrey Epstein, worst child sex trafficker in modern history?\u201d he said. \u201cAbsolutely not. N-O.\u201d<\/p>\n

Honig went on to say it\u2019s \u2018hard to imagine\u2019 that Trump would pardon Maxwell, but \u2018other people who I know who are closer to Donald Trump and who have worked with him in the past say it could well happen’.<\/p>\n

As of right now, Trump is facing demands to release the files related to the case.<\/p>\n

For Maxwell, if she isn\u2019t pardoned, she\u2019ll spend the rest of her sentence behind bars after she was also found guilty of\u00a0sex trafficking<\/a>\u00a0minors, conspiracy to entice a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, and conspiracy to transport a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
