Prince William and Kate Middleton met while studying at the university, but at one point, it appears someone else would become the future queen as they split in 2007. Fortunately, it didn\u2019t last long, and according to a former royal butler, William managed to win Kate back. He did so through a special \u2018romantic move<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prince William and Kate Middleton fell in love while they studied at the university. She was thought to be\u00a0the one<\/em>\u00a0for William, and from the outside, William and Kate\u2019s relationship appeared to be perfect.<\/p>\n

It seemed like the future king had found his future queen, but sadly, that was not the case at the time. In 2006, their relationship declined. The year after, the couple split, and many believed it was the end of the love story.<\/p>\n

But things changed, and Prince William and Kate found their way back to each other. So what did happen? Grant Harrold, who was King Charles\u2019 butler, reveals in his memoir\u00a0The Royal Butler: My Remarkable Life in Royal Service<\/em>, that William was longing to get Kate back.<\/p>\n

He made the move with a romantic gesture that proved how much he meant it.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen they got back together, it was fresh, it was like a double boost,\u201d Harrold said. \u201cThey both were making more of an effort. \u2026 [They had] this romantic dinner for Valentine\u2019s Day, which they asked me to do, which they had never done before. They hadn\u2019t done anything like that before. Suddenly, they wanted to do that. I felt that [William] was saying, \u2018Look, I\u2019m serious. This is going to up a level.\u2019 That\u2019s what I felt.\u201d<\/p>\n

How Prince William won Kate back with \u2018romantic move\u2019<\/h2>\n

\u201cAnd, of course, a few years after that, they carried on. It was almost like a reset button, but this was serious. The first time around, it was boyfriend-girlfriend, \u2018Oh, let\u2019s eat here, let\u2019s chill here, let\u2019s do that.\u2019 Suddenly, it was a bit more, \u2018I\u2019m serious, and I\u2019m going to show you I\u2019m serious.\u2019 That\u2019s how it came across, which was amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harrold had suggested to William and Kate that it would be a pleasure to serve them formal dinners. However, they both \u201claughed it off,\u201d telling the butler that they didn\u2019t want to make a fuss. But one day, leading up to Valentine\u2019s Day 2008, William had changed his mind.<\/p>\n

One day, he approached Harrold, saying, \u201cOK, let\u2019s do a dinner, if you\u2019re happy to.\u201d And we all know where the story took the two lovebirds from there.<\/p>\n
