A self-professed adventurer and innovator, much of his focus in life was centered around his ambition to go where others hadn\u2019t dared.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-us-canada-66014565\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The BBC described<\/a>\u00a0him as a \u201cmaverick spirit\u201d whose charisma helped to draw in employees, customers and investors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis passion was amazing and I bought into it,\u201d said Aaron Newman, who travelled on Mr Rush\u2019s Titan sub and eventually became an OceanGate investor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re remembered for the rules you break,\u201d Rush himself once said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"newsner-c00c04ae9ffbeef9106628bff47e7f9c\" class=\"newsner-c00c04ae9ffbeef9106628bff47e7f9c newsner-amp_article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"newsner-1344527836\" class=\"newsner-article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<p>Speaking on the Titan vessel, he said: \u201cI\u2019ve broken some rules.
