The actress Shannen Doherty has been open about her cancer diagnosis and treatment, but she is now sharing some incredibly distressing information. In sharing the news, she wrote on Instagram, \u201cJanuary 5th, my ct scan showed Mets in my brain.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Her brain cancer is now being treated with radiation therapy. She had her first radiation treatment on January 12th. She said, \u201cIt\u2019s clear that I\u2019m afraid. \u201cMy life was quite busy because I have severe claustrophobia,\u201d she said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Despite the fact that Doherty is going through a frightening period, she expressed her thankfulness for her doctors in a letter, saying, \u201cI am fortunate as I have fantastic doctors like Dr. Amin Mirahdi and the amazing technologists at Cedar Sinai.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cBut this is what cancer may look like\u2014that worry, that turbulence, that timing.\u201d Along with the post, she uploaded a video of herself receiving radiation while making no attempt to hide her fear at the time.<\/p>\n

Doherty was initially diagnosed with cancer back in 2015. Her diagnosis was breast cancer with metastatic spread. Doherty underwent radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and a single mastectomy before achieving remission in 2017.<\/p>\n

Doherty\u2019s cancer returned in 2019, but she held off on letting everyone know. Doherty revealed to the world in 2020 that the stage of her breast cancer at the time was 4. Due to the finding that Doherty\u2019s cancer has spread to her brain, her condition has dramatically deteriorated, and this time, her husband isn\u2019t providing any assistance for her.<\/p>\n

Three months after learning she had brain cancer and beginning treatment, Doherty revealed in April 2023 that she was divorcing Kurt Iswarienko, the man she had been married to for 11 years. Apparently, he was \u201cintimately involved\u201d with his PR.<\/p>\n

After finding out about her cancer diagnosis, many of her famous friends left comments on her Instagram post.. \u201cRooting for you, my irreplaceable friend,\u201d Kevin Smith wrote. \u201cYou have always been such a fearless fighter, so it is understandable that you occasionally feel frightened. But after those times have passed, allow that unbreakable Doherty spirit to reign once more.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a lot,\u201d wrote Selma Blair. \u201cAgain, there\u2019s a lot to handle here. And I\u2019m hoping that in your moments of dread, all the knowledge of intelligent peace may come to you. to know you are in our care. Love, love, love.\u201d<\/p>\n
