Rachel Bilson is walking back\u00a0her h ot take<\/a>\u00a0that it\u2019d be \u201cweird\u201d if a single man in his 40s only slept with four women after Whoopi Goldberg\u00a0called her out for \u201cbitching\u201d<\/a> about others\u2019 s ex lives.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to say that I\u2019ve been a fan of Whoopi\u2019s for a very long time, so when I saw the tagline that she criticized something I said, I of course was concerned,\u201d Bilson\u00a0told Entertainment Weekly<\/a>\u00a0Thursday.<\/p>\n

The \u201cO.C.\u201d star clarified she was trying to express that she had felt that way \u201cin the past,\u201d but she \u201cwouldn\u2019t do that anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI made it clear that I don\u2019t want to sound judgmental, it was important that that point get across, not what I said initially,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Bilson, 42, insisted the controversial comment on her \u201cBroad Ideas\u201d podcast was \u201cflippant\u201d and that she immediately \u201cretracted it, because even talking about it now, I\u2019m like, I don\u2019t actually believe that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe make it a very safe open place to discuss anything, and we were just talking. I have the power to edit our podcast, and I chose to keep the conversation as a whole in, because a lot of the time in life, you say something, and maybe you have a minute and you reflect on it,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n

Bilson\u2019s latest comments come hours after Goldberg, 67, slammed her for complaining about a man having only a few s ex ua l partners despite historically being encouraged to have lots.<\/p>\n

Goldberg said it was \u201codd\u201d for Bilson to be \u201cconcerned\u201d about someone\u2019s former sexual partners to begin with, asking, \u201cWhy is it your business? It\u2019s not your business.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bilson made her polarizing admission that she would feel a \u201clittle weird\u201d if a romantic partner had not slept with a lot of women on Monday\u2019s episode of her podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is gonna sound so judgmental, but if a dude is in his 40s and he [has] only slept with four women,\u201d she began, \u201cmaybe he\u2019s been in decade-[long] relationships, totally respectable, but if he\u2019s single in his 40s and it\u2019s only four and he\u2019s never been in the long-term, that\u2019s an issue.\u201d<\/p>\n
