Chris Hemsworth has made some major adjustments to his lifestyle after learning that he\u2019s at very\u00a0high risk of suffering from Alzheimer\u2019s disease<\/a>\u00a0later down the line.<\/p>\n

The \u201cThor\u201d actor, 40, discovered he\u2019s at high risk for the disease while filming his\u00a0National Geographic and Disney+<\/a>\u00a0docuseries, \u201cLimitless,\u201d late last year.<\/p>\n

Since then, he\u2019s overhauled his day-to-day routine in a bid to incorporate \u201cmore solitude\u201d into his life.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve always been pretty consistent with my exercise commitments, but lately I\u2019ve really felt the importance of taking time for yourself without any outside voice or stimulation and making time for stillness,\u201d the Aussie actor\u00a0told Men\u2019s Health<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Admitting that physical exercise has always been part of his routine, Hemsworth said he\u2019s shifting his focus more on mindful work these days.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy weight fluctuates a lot due to differing roles and also my own interests in regards to challenging my body in different ways,\u201d the\u00a0CENTR fitness app<\/a>\u00a0founder shared.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m lifting less frequently than I was and I\u2019m incorporating more cardio and endurance workouts which I much prefer than heavy body-building style sessions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Because the Aussie\u2019s DNA has two copies of the gene APOE4, he is \u201ceight to 10 times more likely\u201d to battle the progressive disease, which is characterized by mental deterioration.<\/p>\n

Hemsworth, along with only two to three percent of the population, has a copy of the gene from both parents.<\/p>\n

The father of three previously revealed that\u00a0he is\u00a0slowing down his acting career<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 but not retiring.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost of us, we like to avoid speaking about death,\u201d he said earlier this year. \u201cThen to all of a sudden be told some big indicators are actually pointing to\u00a0this\u00a0<\/em>as the route which is going to happen, the reality of it sinks in. Your own mortality.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hemsworth said the Alzheimer\u2019s warning \u201ctriggered something in me to want to take some time off.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been completing the things I was already contracted to do,\u201d he said, adding that he plans to \u201cgo home and\u2026 to have a good chunk of time off and just simplify.\u00a0Be with the kids, be with my wife.\u201d<\/p>\n
