He interpreted his mother\u2019s advice quite literally when she told him to call 911 if he needed help. Now a young boy is being praised for his spunky efforts in problem-solving.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Having learned from his mother to call 911 in a situation he needs assistance, a four-year-old boy petitioned the support of an emergency dispatcher with a puzzling problem\u2026 it left him stumped.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Years ago, a four-year-old boy named Johnny dialed\u00a0911<\/a>, desperately seeking assistance.<\/p>\n

When the\u00a0dispatcher<\/a>\u00a0answered the call, Johnny quickly and confidently said, \u201cyeah, I need some help.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s the matter?\u201d the concerned operator asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith my math,\u201d the boy replied.<\/p>\n

Believing Johnny was asking for help with his \u201cmouth,\u201d dispatch asked where he lived, prompting Johnny to emphatically say, \u201cNo with my math. I have to do it. Will you help me?\u201d<\/p>\n

Patiently, the operator asked where he lived but Johnny insisted they continue talking on the phone.<\/p>\n

Still uneasy and wanting to send an officer to his location, the kind man on the other end said, \u201cNo, I can\u2019t do that but I can send someone else to help you.\u201d<\/p>\n

The child was persuasive.<\/p>\n

Empathizing with the boy\u2019s battle with\u00a0numbers<\/a>, he asked, \u201cWhat kind of math do you have that you need help with?\u201d<\/p>\n

Explaining he had \u201ctake aways,\u201d the\u00a0operator<\/a>\u00a0understood that Johnny meant subtractions.<\/p>\n

\u201c16 take away 8 is what?\u201d Johnny said, appealing for some help.<\/p>\n

Encouraging him to hazard a guess, instead of providing the answer, the operator said, \u201cHow much do you think it is?\u201d<\/p>\n

When Johnny answered \u201c1\u201d dispatch recognized he was very young and asked for his age. Hearing Johnny was \u201conly four,\u201d the operator started playing along.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s another problem? That was a tough one,\u201d he said, his gentle behavior feeding the enthusiasm of his\u00a0young caller<\/a>.<\/p>\n
