When Stacey\u00a0Faix became pregnant she was only a teenager. Still a child herself at just 15 years old when she gave birth to her son, she decided to place him for adoption.<\/p>\n

After she gave birth, he was taken away, never to be seen again or so she thought.<\/p>\n

In November 2017, a new law was passed in Pennsylvania that allowed adoptees to access their original birth certificate. This was welcome news for\u00a0Stephen Strawn, an adoptee.<\/p>\n

When Strawn learned of the new law he knew he wanted his information. Within a month he had his birth certificate in hand and on it included details that were previously lost.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a big sigh of relief,\u201d he told\u00a0Inside Edition<\/a>\u00a0after he learned his biological mother\u2019s name.<\/p>\n

Strawn searched Facebook for the name, Stacey\u00a0Faix. He was able to find her or at least someone he thought was her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI sent her a message and said, \u2018Hey, I have a really weird question,’\u201d\u00a0Strawn said. \u201cI said, \u2018Did you put a baby boy up for adoption in 1982?\u2019\u00a0She said, \u2018Yes.\u2019 I said, \u2018I think you may be my biological mom.’\u201d<\/p>\n

It turned out that Faix, who had attempted to find her son but was unsuccessful, and Strawn had a lot things in common, even though they had not seen or spoken to each other in 35 years.<\/p>\n

Although Faix lived in Ohio, she planned on running in the Pittsburgh Half Marathon as a member of Team Red, White and Blue (RWB), an organization which Strawn was also a member of where he lived in Pennsylvania. Strawn was also set to participate in the same race.<\/p>\n

On race day, Strawn devised a plan that was well worth the wait.<\/p>\n

As members of Team RWB gathered before the race someone handed Faix a card. The card read, \u201cIt\u2019s been 13,075 days since you last saw me. I didn\u2019t want you wait one more day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her mouth dropped.<\/p>\n
