NINETEEN YEARS AFTER<\/span>\u00a0starring as Elektra in the 2005\u00a0Daredevil\u00a0<\/em>spinoff,\u00a0Jennifer Garner<\/a>\u00a0is returning to the role.<\/p>\n

On Friday,\u00a0The Hollywood Reporter<\/a><\/em>\u00a0revealed that Garner will be playing the beloved superhero character in\u00a0Deadpool 3<\/em>, which is set to premiere in 2024.<\/p>\n

Garner played the character of Elektra in 2003\u2019s\u00a0Daredevil<\/em>, which starred Ben Affleck as Man Without Fear. Garner also served as the protagonist of a film based on her own character.<\/p>\n

The Marvel Studios film is currently shooting with\u00a0Ryan Reynolds<\/a>\u00a0playing his titular role, and Hugh Jackson returning to play Wolverine. Shawn Levy, who directed\u00a0Night at the Museum<\/em>\u00a0and 2022\u2019s\u00a0The Adam Project<\/em>, is helming direction for the upcoming film. (Garner played Ellie Read in\u00a0The Adam Project<\/a><\/em>, and Reynolds played Adam Reed.)<\/p>\n

Citing multiple sources,\u00a0THR\u00a0<\/em>said that the inclusion of Garner\u2019s character hints at a multiverse-style plotline in the film, tapping into characters that belonged to Twentieth Century Fox, instead of Disney or Marvel.<\/p>\n

Garner is also set to appear in\u00a0Family Leave<\/em>, which is in post-production. Garner serves as one of the film\u2019s co-producers, and she plays the protagonist role of Jess alongside Ed Helms. Garner starred in\u00a0Party Down<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0The Last Thing He Told<\/em>\u00a0Me<\/em>\u00a0earlier this year.<\/p>\n
