Megan Rapinoe suffered a devastating injury on her last ever game in football.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

While she bid farewell to playing for the US national women’s team back in September, she still had commitments to the National Women\u2019s Soccer League Championship.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

OL Reign played against Gotham FC over the weekend and Rapinoe went down in the sixth minute of the game due to a suspected Achilles injury.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It certainly didn’t help that her team ended up losing the match as well.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It was definitely not the way she would have wanted to end her career.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And she made it very well known in the post-match press conference how she felt.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cI\u2019m not a religious person or anything and if there was a god, like, this is proof that there isn\u2019t,\u201d Rapinoe said, according to\u00a0Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cThis is f**ked up. It\u2019s just f**ked up. Six minutes in and I eat my Achilles.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In an interview with The Seattle Times, she said everyone thought she was tripped to suffer an injury like that.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

“Obviously, no one was even around me, and I was pressing,\u201d Rapinoe explained.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cThat\u2019s what it felt like.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

“Just a huge pop and I can\u2019t even feel where the Achilles is, but pretty sure I tore my Achilles.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

“The worst possible outcome.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cThank God I have a f**king deep well of a sense of humor. It\u2019s devastating to go out in a final so early.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But as Oasis once said, ‘don’t look back in anger’.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Rapinoe has had an incredible career and will be considered one of the greats for a very long time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

She managed to rack up 66 club goals during her time in the sport, more than 60 goals on the international level, a Ballon d’Or F\u00e9minin trophy and the 2019 Best FIFA Women’s Player.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
