Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson made a startling remark about the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol during an interview that was posted this week.<\/p>\n
OPINION: This article may contain commentary which reflects the author\u2019s opinion.<\/em><\/p>\n On Friday, Carlson\u2019s previous claims that the crowd involved in the January 6th protest at the U.S. Capitol was filled with federal agents was supported by a previously unaired interview with then-Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund.<\/p>\n During a conversation with comedian and political commentator Russell Brand on Brand\u2019s podcast, Carlson recounted the incident, adding that he was taken off the air by Fox before the interview could air.<\/p>\n \u201cI had no thought in my head as I watched this happen on television and in the subsequent weeks that U.S. law enforcement or military agencies had anything to do with it. That never crossed my mind. I never thought there was a false flag or anything like that. I\u2019m not a conspiracist by temperament. I never thought that\u201d Carlson said, expressing his initial doubts.<\/p>\n Howeve, the interview with Sund apparently had a significant impact on Carlson\u2019s perspective. Sund, who is known for his non-partisan stance, purportedly affirmed Carlson\u2019s previous statements regarding the presence of federal agents within the crowd.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd then I interviewed the chief of the Capitol Police, Steven Sund in an interview that was never aired on Fox\u2026 but Steven Sund was the totally non-political\u2026 he was the chief of the Capitol Police on January 6th and he said \u2018oh yeah, yeah that crowd was filled with federal agents\u2019,\u201d Carlson recounted.<\/p>\n Trending Politics News added:<\/p>\n Twitter owner Elon Musk interestingly commented on the video, saying \u201cWould be interesting to hear from the chief of police.\u201d Sund served as the Chief of the United States Capitol Police from 2019 until his resignation in January 2021, following the Capitol riot. He had a 25-year career in law enforcement prior to becoming the Capitol Police Chief.<\/em><\/p>\n Sund\u2019s position would have given him an intimate knowledge of the security and personnel involved that day. If his claims are true, they could dramatically alter the understanding of the events that unfolded on January 6th. Carlson is expected to conduct a second interview with Sund in the near future to delve further into these shocking claims.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n WATCH:<\/p>\n
