The majority of\u00a0American Horror Story<\/em>\u00a0fans were baffled when it was announced last year that reality star Kim Kardashian had bagged herself a role in the new series.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The eerie FX\u00a0anthology series<\/a>\u00a0– which has previously starred the likes of\u00a0Sarah Paulson<\/a>,\u00a0Evan Peters<\/a>,\u00a0Lady Gaga<\/a> and Jessica Lange – has received countless accolades for its horrifying storylines and nauseating special effects.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Certainly not for the fainthearted, many viewers of the long-standing series couldn’t believe that\u00a0Keeping Up With The Kardashians<\/em><\/a>\u00a0favourite Kim would be taking part.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Though the mother-of-four has taken on several acting roles in the past – including during performances on\u00a0Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/a>, as well as in 2008’s\u00a0Disaster Movie\u00a0<\/em>and 2021’s\u00a0PAW Patrol: The Movie\u00a0<\/em>– this marked her first time in a recurring role.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kim<\/a>, 43, made headlines when she was cast as publicist Siobhan in the latest series of\u00a0AHS<\/em><\/a>, named\u00a0Delicate,\u00a0<\/em>with many fans believing the role should have been given to a trained actress.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This week, Kim has opened up about a conversation she had with Hollywood icon Salma Hayek shortly after she was cast, following the initial criticism she received.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Speaking on her family’s Hulu series\u00a0The Kardashians,\u00a0<\/em>she told viewers: “I just have to get it together. All these people are like speaking out like, ‘You should give the role to Salma Hayek. Why don\u2019t you give a real actress a job?'”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Revealing she reached out to\u00a0Black Mirror\u00a0<\/em>star Hayek, she went on: “I said to her like, ‘What did I get myself into? I feel bad.’<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

“And she\u2019s like, ‘Do not feel bad. Maybe this whole road has led you here because you are supposed to be an actress and this is your real career’.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“And I am like, ‘You are right, Salma Hayek.’ And I was like, can we play sisters in something? Because you are my idol.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The\u00a0reality star’s following on Instagram dropped some 280,000<\/a>\u00a0in the wake of her appearance on the show.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

This reduction came in just three weeks as people unfollowed Kardashian at a rate of around 14,000 people per day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But Kim also asked in a confessional on the reality TV hit: “Why can\u2019t I just be in law school and be an actress and be a f***ing minister?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

“Why can\u2019t I do it all, you know? It\u2019s like, do whatever you want to do, and am I bothering anyone? No.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Speaking of the role of no-nonsense PR guru Siobhan, she adds: “I like my character. I\u2019m this publicist, she’s an ‘I don\u2019t give a f**k’ kind of girl.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
