Jim Caviezel claims when the Walt Disney Company tried to remove references to God in one of his films and mocked his Christian faith on set, he stood up against them in a big way.<\/h3>\n

Jim Caviezel is one of the few actors in Hollywood who openly professes his Christian beliefs. The\u00a0Passion of the Christ<\/em>\u00a0star opened up about his encounters with anti-Christian sentiments while filming\u00a0The Count of Monte Cristo<\/em>\u00a0in 2002.<\/p>\n

Caviezel made allegations against Disney in a promotional video for his film\u00a0Sound of Freedom<\/em>. \u201cWhen I did\u00a0The Count of Monte Cristo<\/em>, they wanted me to remove the \u2018God\u2019 from all of the script. True story,\u201d Caviezel\u00a0said<\/a>. \u201cAll of a sudden, I\u2019m reading the script \u2014 what happened to \u2018God\u2019?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI had to say no, I can\u2019t do this. Right is right, wrong is wrong,\u201d the actor informed Disney producers regarding eliminating \u201cGod\u201d from the script. In reaction, he said that Disney employees involved in the production made fun of his Christian religion, asking, \u201cSo, you\u2019re one of those?\u201d Caviezel refused to back down, and God remained in the film.<\/p>\n

Caviezel was referring to a critical sequence in the film in which his character, Edmond Dantes, slowly carves the phrase \u201cGod will give me justice\u201d into the prison cell wall. The sequence, adapted from Alexandre Dumas\u2019\u00a0novel<\/a>, demonstrated how long Caviezel\u2019s character wasted away in captivity. Edmond ultimately believes that God has a plan for his life, which is why he stays alive and succeeds in escaping prison.<\/p>\n
