Hawn<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Russell<\/a>\u00a0first met on the set of the Disney movie “The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band<\/a>” when she was 21, but he was still a teenager in 1966. While she was intrigued, she said he was far too young for her at the time.<\/p>\n

“I was 21 and he was 16,” Hawn recollected in a\u00a0BBC<\/a>\u00a0interview in 2012. “I thought he was adorable, but he was much too young. Then, years later we met up again, and I remembered that I liked him very much when I first met him. We both said we would never go out with another actor so it just shows you never can tell.”<\/p>\n

As for their first date in 1983, in a 2017\u00a0interview<\/a>\u00a0with\u00a0Conan O’Brien<\/a>, Russell said he did not expect it to go very well.<\/p>\n

“I was severely hungover and I didn’t know Goldie at all outside of having worked with her those many years before,” Russell told Conan. “I just didn’t have in my mind what I was going to see, and she had a great body. So the first thing that came out was, ‘Man, you’ve got a great figure.’ It came out quickly and it could’ve gone wrong, and she\u00a0said, ‘Why thank you.'”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
