No matter how much we\u2019d like to believe our kids\u00a0are perfect, the stark truth is that none of them are.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now, I\u2019m not suggesting the majority of parents\u00a0aren\u2019t doing their jobs \u2013 far from it \u2013 merely that childhood is a steep learning curve, one in which virtually all participants will make mistakes they\u2019ll look back on and regret.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Perhaps what matters most when such things occur isn\u2019t what has actually happened but rather how said child\u00a0learns from it and moves on.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s precisely for this reason that we introduce the concept of punishment early: a kid\u00a0does something wrong and they\u2019re forced to suffer the consequences of said act. It\u2019s teaches them a simple lesson and, hopefully*, they don\u2019t do that same thing again.<\/p>\n

Of course, punishments can vary in degrees, ranging from a metaphorical slap on the wrist to methods that the offending child\u00a0won\u2019t likely forget.<\/p>\n

In any case, one dad\u2019s choice for his daughter certainly sits in the latter of those two categories. She was caught making fun of another student at school who had lost all of her hair to chemoterapy. When her dad found out, it\u2019s safe to say he wasn\u2019t impressed.<\/p>\n

He decided to take steps to ensure she never did it again. He shaved her head bald, so that she\u2019d know what it felt like to be in her victim\u2019s shoes.<\/p>\n

Needless to say, his method of rebuke has drawn plenty of criticism online, but he isn\u2019t phased by any of it. On the contrary, he told cafemom\u00a0that he thinks it was a perfectly acceptable reaction.<\/p>\n

He also toldCafemom\u00a0that his daughter is dating the other girl\u2019s ex-boyfriend, which contributed to the drama that played out.<\/p>\n
