Some of the online influencers have millions of people who follow their every move. One of those people is Lucy Welcher, and she is an influencer with some 20 million likes.
Recently, Lucy posted a now-viral video on TikTok with a simple claim. She said that she was ‘too pretty’ to work and it ignited a firestorm of comments that is still going on today. Many people on the Internet were accusing her of being entitled and shallow but let’s look into it a little further.
In the video, she said that she doesn’t like the daily grind of work. She said: “I do not want to work for the rest of my life. Does it look like I want to get up at 6 a.m. every f**king day for the next 60 years? No! I’m too pretty for that!”
After the negative feedback started pouring in, she deleted the original video and posted a new one. In the new video, she gave some clarification to say that she was only joking and expressing some frustration about how social media had slandered her.
She also said that some of the conceptions about her wealth, earning a large salary, and having multiple luxury vehicles were false. She said that in reality, her house is ‘literally falling apart’
Another video was posted a few days later and it was entitled: “Remake of the most hated video I’ve ever made.” She reenacted what she had done in the controversial video but this time, the reactions were different.
Since most people realized that she was only joking about being too pretty to work, they were more supportive of her and her second video. At the same time, however, there were many people who still wanted to argue the point and they did so in the comments.
