As the woke mob tries and fails to cancel her husband’s new song, “Try That in a Small Town,” Brittany Aldean is firing back at critics for what she sees as their twisted and repulsive motives. Rather than backing down, she and her husband are showing they learned the lesson of past cancelation attempts and are standing up for themselves and the conservative message in the song.
Ripping those who have attacked the song for attempting to push a “repulsive” narrative in a Instagram story, she said, “Media… it’s the same song and dance. Twist everything you can to fit your repulsive narrative. How about instead of creating stories, we focus on the REAL ones such as CHILD TRAFFICKING? Food for thought.”
In another post, she thanked fans for sticking by her husband and his music, saying, “Man do we love y’all. 💛 Free thinkers, lions not sheep… thankful for the support, always!”
This isn’t the first time Brittany Aldean has taken a public, forceful stance on a contentious culture war issue. She did so as well when the fashion company Balenciaga included creepy, sexually suggestive photos of young children in its marketing materials, ripping the brand for the horrific photos.
Beginning that attack, she said, “I, for one, love fashion… but I refuse to represent or wear a brand that has any affiliation with sexual exploitation of children or the sexualization of children. It’s disgusting, and what they showed us recently in their recent campaign is pure evil.”
In any case, why the song infuriated the left is obvious. In one part, for example, Aldean sings, “Got a gun that my granddad gave me, They say one day they’re gonna round up, Well, that s–t might fly in the city, good luck, Try that in a small town, See how far ya make it down the road, You cross that line, it won’t take long, For you to find out, I recommend you don’t, Try that in a small town.”
Also in the song, he sings, “Sucker punch somebody on a sidewalk/ Carjack an old lady at a red light/ Pull a gun on the owner of a liquor store/ Ya think it’s cool, well, act a fool if ya like/ Cuss out a cop, spit in his face/ Stomp on the flag and light it up/ Yeah, ya think you’re tough. Well, try that in a small town/ See how far ya make it down the road/ ‘Round here, we take care of our own/ You cross that line, it won’t take long/ For you to find out, I recommend you don’t/ Try that in a small town.“
