A mom has defended her teaching methods as she admits she doesn’t teach her children anything unless they ask first
A mom has left people dumbfounded on how she plans to homeschool her children in order to do it better than public schools.
School can be a wonderful time for many and an absolute nightmare for others, but you would hope by the end of it you leave more educated than when you started.
You know, have a good understanding of math and meet a solid literacy standard, discovered what you are good at, passionate about and essentially confident and comfortable entering wider society as an adult.
However, one woman who is determined to homeschool her children, has turned heads with her methods.
While homeschooling can be a great option for all types of children, as it can allow greater focus on weakness and amplification of strengths, people are convinced this one mom’s method isn’t going to have… well any good results.

The woman, who goes by mami.onami on TikTok, defended her homeschooling method and a lot of people simply aren’t on board.
In a video she said: “So we don’t teach our children anything, everything that they learn is in response to either interests or their questions.
“We have no curriculum, we have no school hours, we really just respond whenever they wanna know something and do our best to make sure they really get it.”
Now call this a revolutionary idea… but I think it can be beneficial to teach children stuff when it comes to learning.
Many people on social media also pointed out that this method could come into issues because these young children won’t know what they don’t know to ask about it.
In the clip, the mother also showed her 6-year-old son’s scrap book and showed his literacy skills.
Unfortunately, this didn’t sway many social media users who argued the child should be better at reading and writing by this age, pointing out the flaws.
“A child at six should be able to write simple sentences not struggling with letter formation this child is far behind their peers,” one user on X wrote.
“That kid is far behind where he should be at 6, I was reading voraciously and writing little book reports in preschool (3-4). Plus kids need structure to learn discipline. This is really sad,” another added.

“lol I was reading at a 6th grade level at 4 because my mom was awesome and she challenged us,” wrote another.
“Children will also eat candy until they throw up. Should you only feed them candy or actually have them eat what they should?” a fourth person commented.
On her TikTok page however, the mother received some supportive comments from social media users.
