Crazy Town frontman Shifty Shellshock shared a cryptic message online in the weeks leading up to his death, it has emerged.

Earlier today, the sad news was announced that the lead singer of the rock band has died at the age of 49.

News of Shellshock’s death was confirmed by the Los Angeles medical examiner after he was found dead at his home in LA on Monday (24 June).

A cause of death is yet to be confirmed.

Shellshock, whose birth name was Seth Binzer, co-founded Crazy Town in 1999 after meeting his fellow frontman, Bret Mazur, a few years earlier.

It has now emerged that the 49-year-old shared a mystifying message just eight weeks ago.

Taking to Instagram in April, over the course of just two days he posted eight pictures, one of which read ‘don’t you ever f**king apologize for being yourself’ – just one of several cryptic messages.

The first of the eight pictures he posted was a picture of him as a child, with blonde locks – instead of the bleach blonde hair he sported in the 00s, strikingly different to the now more familiar bald look he donned.

Another was a quote from co-founder of Def Jam Recordings, Rick Rubin, which read: “Aiming at greatness is different than aiming at being better than someone else.”

The next came after the ‘don’t apologize’ post mentioned earlier, the post read: “Thugged it out in silence & ima win the exact same way.”

The posts are heartbreaking to scroll through as Bizner gives an insight into his battles at the time. One of his posts was of his shoes and he was stood over graffiti reading ‘love’, as well as rose petals.

His caption read: “I’m a lover than a fighter …but the one I need to love more Instead of fight with is myself .. mr shifty true Love # Sober alive and grateful.”

While his pinned post showed Shifty topless with his arms folded revealing his chest and neck tattoos, as well as multiple face piercings.

Shellshock’s penultimate post read: “The black sheep, the odd ducks, the rejects, the eccentrics, the loners, the lost and forgotten. More often than not, these people have the most beautiful souls.”

His final post depicted an AI picture of a crowd of people all dressed white head to toe, including balaclavas, while one person clothed in black looks up at the camera.

The caption read: “To the ones who stay even when I try my hardest to scare the away.”

Over the years, the band released hits including ‘Butterfly’, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks.

Though their debut album, The Gift of Game, sold more than 1.5 million copies, the group parted ways after their 2002 follow-up, Darkhorse.

13 years later, the band would release their third album, The Brimstone Sluggers.
