Police launched an investigation after Matthew Perry was found dead in his hot tub
A law enforcement source has claimed ‘multiple people’ could be charged in connection with the death of Friends star Matthew Perry.
The actor was ruled to have died from acute effects of ketamine after his sudden death in October 2023, with an autopsy report ruling the death as accidental.
The autopsy reported that Perry had been undergoing ketamine infusion therapy when he died in a hot tub at his home in Los Angeles.
However, Perry’s last known infusion took place a week and a half prior to his death, indicating that the drugs in his system weren’t related to an infusion.
In spite of Perry’s death being ruled as accidental, law enforcement began an investigation in December to try and determine where the ketamine which killed Perry had come from.
In a statement provided to press, the LAPD said: “Based on the medical examiner’s findings, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), with the assistance of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the United States Postal Inspection Service, has continued its investigation into the circumstances of Mr Perry’s death.”

Now, a law enforcement investigative source has told People the investigation is ‘nearing its conclusion’.
It will be up to the US Attorney’s Office to determine whether or not to press charges against people potentially involved in the case, but the office has so far declined to comment.
However, the law enforcement source claimed that police at least believe ‘multiple people’ should be charged. It’s currently unclear exactly what kind of charges would be made.
The claims come after it was revealed last week that police had seized the phone and laptop of an unnamed celebrity in relation to Perry’s death.
A source told In Touch the celebrity, a woman, had been brought in for multiple interviews as part of the investigation and was ‘completely cooperative’ as she was approached by police.

Upon searching her room, police reportedly took an iPhone and a computer.
The insider stated: “She’s hired lawyers and has had multiple meetings with law enforcement since they arrived at her sober living house with a search warrant.
“She’s being tight-lipped about the situation. But the investigators must have known something to get a warrant and turn up like that.
“It’s tough to say or know exactly what her role is [in Matthew’s death], but she’s adamant she had nothing to do with that.”
Perry had previously spoken openly about his experiences with substance abuse, having tried repeatedly to give up drugs after his usage caused some severe health issues.
