Shocking footage shows worker testing ‘up to 10,000 vapes a day’ in factory

A documentary make went inside a Chinese vape factory and some of the things he saw were surprising

You think your job is hard? Spare a thought for this guy who has to smoke up to 10,000 vapes a day on an assembly line.

The demand for vapes is going up and up, with a CDC study found that e-cigarette monthly unit sales increased by 46.6 percent from January 2020 to December 2022.

But have you ever wondered how they’re manufactured and tested? It’s probably not what you’re expecting.

When YouTube channel Machina decided to fly out to one of the top disposable vape factories in Baoan, Shenzhen in China, they were in for a shock.

While there, they found out how factories are able to mass produce vape products, from their inner workings to their testing process.

But it was this last section that was the strangest.

In the video, you can see the various testing stages the disposable vapes go through.

First, there is a pressure test which pushes pressure from the bottom of the vape to allow it to release vapor from the mouthpiece.

The second, is a suction tube while pulls vapor from the vape, kind of like the way a person would take a hit.

But the third? It’s a little strange.

The clip shows a worker holding numerous vapes in one hand as he takes a hit from each vape, with his own mouth to test if they are working properly.

Even the documentary maker wasn’t sure if it was to test the mechanism or the quality of the flavor.

When they asked the man about the number of vapes he tests each day, he explained that it was approximately 8,000 to 10,000 per day and he even smokes outside of work.

The clip gained obvious interest from vape users who shared it to Reddit to share their opinions on someone having to smoke that many vapes as part of their job.

One person wrote: “Do you also smoke after work?

“Yeah, otherwise I get too much blood in my nicotine system”.

Someone else commented: “That dude literally smokes 24/7.”

Now, 10,000 vape puffs per day is a hell of a lot to smoke.

According to the electronic vape company, each vape that contains 10ml of nicotine vape juice holds around 3000 puffs.

So, this man must be smoking over three full vapes per day while at work.

Damn.
