Actress Drena De Niro, who is the daughter of renowned actor Robert De Niro, has shared the devastating news of her teenage son’s untimely death. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she expressed her deep emotions and sorrow surrounding this tragic event.
Drena De Niro’s son, Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, has sadly passed away, as revealed by the actress herself on Sunday night through an Instagram post. The 51-year-old actress shared her heart-wrenching feelings, stating, “My beautiful sweet angel. I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my belly.”
She continued by pouring out her emotions, saying, “You have been my joy, my heart, and the embodiment of all that was ever pure and real in my life. I wish I could be with you right now. I wish I could be by your side. I don’t know how to live without you, but I will try to carry on and spread the love and light that you made me feel as your mother. You were deeply loved and cherished, and I wish love alone could have saved you.”
Expressing her remorse, Drena added, “I’m so sorry, my baby.” She concluded her post with the words, “Rest in Peace and Eternal Paradise, my darling boy.”
Drena did not provide any further details about the sudden passing of Leandro. In her post, she also tagged the teenage boy’s father, artist Carlos Mare.
It’s important to note that Drena De Niro is the daughter of actress Diahnne Abbott and Robert De Niro, whom she adopted his last name after his marri
age to her mother in 1976. She is the eldest among De Niro’s seven children.
In May, the actor publicly announced the birth of his seventh child, a daughter with his girlfriend, Tiffany Chen. As of now, Robert De Niro has not made any comments regarding the tragic news of his grandson’s passing.
