Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were one of the most popular Hollywood couples of all time. As individuals, they have each had an incredible career within the entertainment industry, specifically as actors. Together, they built a beautiful family during the happy times of their long marriage. Although they have gone their separate ways, the pair have continued to co-parent and raise their children to be great model citizens.

Ben is most known for being an actor, producer, screenwriter, director, and philanthropist, while Garner is known as an actress and producer. The two have been prominent figures in the film industry and have both used their platforms to help the betterment of others through charities and organizations.

Ben and Garner have had their share of ups and downs throughout their long-winded relationship, but they have come together to make their children a priority. Their well-known relationship has made them a popular subject in the spotlight and a prominent target for the media. Much to Ben and Garner’s chagrin, their children have become targets of relentless paparazzi trying to capture photos of the family.

Although the parents have worked to keep their children’s lives private, they still share parts of their lives with the public. Their children have grown right before the world’s eyes, with their oldest daughter, Violet Affleck, now a budding teenager. Violet has begun showcasing features resembling both of her parents and has become an absolutely adorable teenage girl. This was proven when she stepped out with her father and his second wife, Jennifer Lopez, for a star-studded party in July 2023.

Ben is no stranger to the limelight, having made his mark in films such as “Good Will Hunting,” “Armageddon” and as Batman in the latest installments of the superhero flicks. Garner is a star in her own right, having made her mark in movies such as “13 Going On 30,” “Valentine’s Day” and “Dallas Buyers Club.” The pair were married from 2005 to 2018 and continue to co-parent their three children, Violet, 17, Seraphina Affleck, 13, and Samuel Affleck, 10, together.

The children’s lives took a bit of a turn when their father reconnected with his former flame, Lopez, and walked down the aisle with her in July 2022. They joined Lopez’s two children from her previous marriage to Marc Anthony to become one big blended family.

Naturally, such a transition comes with its own set of challenges. These struggles can also be exacerbated when they are paired with Hollywood A-list stars who are constantly under the media spotlight. However, it appears as if Ben, Lopez and Garner have worked hard to keep their families together and give their children a normal childhood. For Garner, a part of this means keeping her teen kids off of social media for now. In 2019, she revealed she doesn’t allow Violet to have an Instagram account and said:

“I just say, ‘When you can show me studies that say that teenage girls are happier using Instagram than not, then we can have the conversation. But everything you look at, I don’t see anything positive for you out there. You can look at mine when you want to, we can go over it together, but I just don’t see it.'”

Lopez echoed similar sentiments, saying she felt guilty for putting her kids in a tough position.

“I think being the child of famous parents is really something many people can’t understand, and I feel for them for that because they didn’t choose that,” she told Audacy.

While there appears to be little the stars can do to stop the press from hounding them, they are also sure not to allow the media to dictate their lives. On their own terms, Ben’s kids have opted to participate in their parents’ professional lives by making appearances together. In one rare example, Violet joined her father and Lopez at a star-studded party hosted by billionaire Michael Rubin for the July 4th celebration in 2023.

In an Instagram post shared by the Fanatics CEO, Violet was pictured wearing trendy, clear-framed glasses and a face mask alongside her famous dad and stepmother for the all-white affair and looked the picture of elegance and class in a maxi dress. The stunning teenager also appeared to have inherited her father’s stature as she towered above Lopez standing beside her.

While Violet’s decision to wear a mask to the party elicited some criticism in the comments, they were quickly stamped out. When one user asked, “Why on earth is Ben afflecks (sic) daughter wearing a mask?” others responded, “because she wants to. None of your business.” A montage video of the party later showed Violet posing for photos without a mask on.

For at least this night, Violet’s protective parents allowed her to rub shoulders with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. Among the other celebrities pictured at the party were Jay-Z and Beyoncé, Tom Brady, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kylian Mbappé, Kim Kardashian, Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner and Usher.
