It is truly disheartening to witness the cruelty some individuals exhibit towards animals. We have encountered far too many accounts of pets being discarded callously, akin to mere waste.
Such was the case for an unfortunate kitten, subjected to being placed inside a paper bag and callously abandoned in a dumpster. However, this story takes a positive turn, as compassionate rescuers ensured the safety of this feline.
According to a Facebook post shared by Angels of Assisi, an animal shelter in Roanoke, Virginia, an attentive hospital worker overheard a troubling sound emanating from a dumpster and promptly contacted the police for assistance. An officer from Carilion Police promptly arrived at the scene, peered into the dumpster, and encountered a sight that broke their heart.
Within the dumpster lay a six-week-old kitten, crammed into a paper supermarket bag, left behind as if it were insignificant.
It is difficult to fathom the kind of cruelty that would lead a person to abandon a helpless baby kitten in such a manner. Nevertheless, it is truly miraculous that she was discovered in time. Photographs document the officer rescuing the kitten, carrying it to their police car. The kitten, now given the name Toby, was transported to Carilion Clinic for much-needed veterinary attention and then entrusted to the care of Angels of Assisi.
The shelter subsequently placed Toby in a foster home, where he is receiving ample love and care until he reaches an appropriate age for adoption. This heartbreaking tale ultimately concludes with a happy ending. Numerous individuals expressed their gratitude to the officer and the animal shelter for saving this precious life.

“Another person commented, ‘I cannot even begin to comprehend how anyone could commit such an act. I am immensely grateful that this baby was saved, and I hope the responsible party is brought to justice.’”
