Dolly Parton, the iconic country superstar, left fans in awe as she graced the stage for a Thanksgiving halftime show at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
They couldn’t get over how youthful the 77-year-old country music legend looked during her performance.
Fresh from the release of her new album Rockstar, the legendary singer performed during the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day game against the Washington Commanders. Parton’s appearance had fans proclaiming that she seems to be “aging backward.”
Parton’s halftime performance was nothing short of spectacular. The celebrated artist donned a modified Cowboys’ cheerleader uniform, featuring a white vest adorned with blue stars, a revealing blue crop top, and white shorts. While it appeared as though her midriff was exposed, it was, in fact, covered by a stunningly bedazzled mesh. A crystal star graced Parton’s belly button, and her tights sparkled with more crystals.
“Aging backwards and stunning as ever,” one fan gushed over Parton’s appearance during her show.
Parton kicked off the halftime show with her beloved hit ‘Jolene’ and seamlessly transitioned into another classic, ‘9 to 5.’ She also delighted the audience with her rendition of Queen’s anthem ‘We Are the Champions.’ Her participation in this year’s Thanksgiving Day game halftime show was announced in a press statement last month, and Parton expressed her honor at partnering with The Salvation Army.
She said, “Those Red Kettles have long been a symbol of hope for our friends and neighbors who are facing hard times. My goal is to encourage everyone who can to donate and support their neighbors in need. Every small act of generosity helps, and together, we can all love our neighbors this holiday season and beyond.”
Parton’s latest album, Rockstar, was released on November 17, delighting fans with a 30-track collection that includes both covers and original compositions. The album features an array of collaborations with music legends, including Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Elton John, Pink, Brandi Carlile, Melissa Etheridge, and Sting, among others.
In anticipation of the album release, Parton treated fans to her rendition of Miley Cyrus’ ‘Wrecking Ball,’ featuring the pop star herself. Cyrus, who also happens to be Parton’s goddaughter, expressed her gratitude for the collaboration on Instagram, highlighting the significance of singing one of her songs with her beloved godmother. The heartfelt collaboration marked another milestone in their close relationship.
In a heartfelt Instagram video, Parton shared her admiration for ‘Wrecking Ball,’ comparing it to the impact of Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ on her. Cyrus reciprocated the love and admiration, declaring, “We’re ROCKSTARS now!”
